Floscelia Lumpkin was born on November 5, 1939 in Danville, Virginia.
She departed this life as Floscelia Jordan on May 30, 2022 in Greensboro, North Carolina at Moses Cone Hospital.
Flosecelia was the 2nd of 4 children to the late John and Mary Lumpkin.
Floscelia was baptized when she was a young adult in Brooklyn, New York.
Her sister Mary Louise Harden, sons Keith and Charles Kissee, grandson Kenyattae Peterson, ex son-in-law Owen Coles, Jr., first husband Jim Kissee, second husband Richard Jordan, and sister-in-law Brenda Lumpkin proceeded her in death.
Floscelia received her high school diploma from Bushwick High School in Brooklyn, New York. She worked at DesignTex as an account billing clerk for 30 years. She retired in 2007 and moved to Greensboro, North Carolina to live in her home.
Floscelia was hard-working, kind, patient, sociable, a fashionable dresser and loved her family very much. She was very close to Jesus; she read her Bible and prayed about any situation. She attended Friendship Temple Apostolic Church with Pastor Allen Evans, Sr. Floscelia would always say “treat people the way you would want them to treat you.”
Floscelia leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Myra Kissee; sons James, David, Anthony (Tony), and Bernard Kissee; four step-daughters; grand-daughters Michelle Coles, Candice Riley, Vanessa Kissee, Jessica Graves and Destiny Bartlett; grand-sons Dwayne Thomas, Damien Kissee, Anthony Kissee, John Kissee and Davon Kissee; a host of great-grandchildren; brothers John and Alphonzo (Poocha) Lumpkin; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and other family and friends.
